Crane Foundation

HINDSIGHT is seeking an experienced NCCCO Crawler Crane Operator for a heavy civil project involving highway and bridge foundation work and ground stabilization/settlement operations.

The operator will work closely with foundation, pile-driving, and civil crews in areas where ground conditions and settlement require additional attention. Candidates must be highly experienced in operating crawler cranes in heavy civil environments and comfortable working around excavations, foundations, bridges, highways, and changing ground conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate crawler cranes for highway and bridge foundation construction.
• Support foundation stabilization and ground-settlement-related operations.
• Perform lifts associated with pile driving, shoring, foundation systems, structural components, and heavy materials.
• Walk and reposition crawler cranes safely across the project site.
• Understand ground-bearing pressure, crane setup requirements, mats, cribbing, and changing soil conditions.
• Recognize hazards associated with soft or unstable ground, excavations, slopes, underground utilities, and foundation work.
• Read and understand crane load charts and lift plans.
• Perform daily crane inspections and identify mechanical or safety concerns.
• Work closely with riggers, signal persons, pile-driving crews, superintendents, and other heavy civil personnel.
• Follow OSHA, site-specific, and company safety requirements at all times.

Requirements

• Current NCCCO certification applicable to crawler crane operations.
• Proven crawler crane operating experience.
• Heavy civil, highway, bridge, foundation, or pile-driving experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working around unstable or settling ground conditions preferred.
• Strong understanding of load charts, crane setup, ground conditions, rigging, and safe lifting practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather and jobsite conditions.
• Must be safety-focused, dependable, and able to work as part of a heavy civil construction crew.

This position is best suited for a seasoned crawler crane operator who understands that safe crane operation begins with the ground underneath the crane and has experience working on complex highway, bridge, and foundation projects.
